Rupiah Bwezani Banda was a Zambian politician who was the 4th President of Zambia between 2008 to 2011.

He was appointed the Vice President of Zambia in 2006 and after the death of the President Mwanawasa in 2008, he became acting president.

Rupiah was 85 years and he born on the 19th February, 1937 and died on 11th March, 2022.

Rupiah’s wife got married to Hope Mwansa Makulu but his first wife passed on in 2000.

He remarried Thandiwe in 2000 until his demise in 2022.

President Banda died of Colon Cancer after a long battle with the disease according to reports.
