Samira Bawumia used her share of the allowances for makeups – Mahama’s aide

Former President John Dramani Mahama’s aide Mr. Dzifa Gunu says, the Second Lady Mrs. Samira Bawumia has used her share of the allowances for makeups.

According to Dzifa Gunu, he was reliably told that, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s wife has spent the allowances paid to her since 2017 on beautifying herself hence, has nothing left to refund to the State.

In a Facebook post made by the communications team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and aide to John Dramani Mahama as intercepted by Coverghana.com.gh said; “I hear the other one has used her share for makeup 🤣🤣🤣”

Dzifa Gunu made the comment following a press statement issued by the First Lady Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo rejecting the recommendations made by Prof. Ntiamoah Badu Commission to formalize payment of salary to Presidential spouses and also decided to refund all allowances paid to her since she became first lady of the Republic of Ghana.

Many Ghanaians are expecting the Second Lady who is another beneficiary of the Prof. Ntiamoah Badu Commission recommendations for payment of salary to do same and subsequent refund all allowances paid to her since 2017. But, Mr. Dzifa Gunu believes that, Mrs. Samira Bawumia has used her share of the money on makeups and cannot follow Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo’s footsteps.

The First Lady has vowed to refund an amount of GH¢899,097.84 to the Ministry of Finance as monies paid to her as allowances. This came at the back of the public outcry in the era of economic hardship affecting the lives of every Ghanaian.
