Sogakofe SHS wins Energy Commission SHS Renewable Energy Challenge 2023
Sogakofe Senior High School (SOGASCO) emerged victorious in the 4th edition of the Energy Commission Senior High Schools Renewable Energy Challenge 2023.
The national grand finale took place on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Accra International Conference Centre, with six (6) Senior High Schools competing.
Sogakofe Senior High School claimed the coveted crown by outperforming Kwabre Senior High School, Dormaa Senior High School, Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ Senior High School, Serwaa Kesse Girls’ Senior High School, and Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School in the finals.

Sogakofe Senior High School (SOGASCO) showcased an extraordinary 5-in-1 agriculture machine during this 4th edition of the Energy Commission Senior High Schools Renewable Energy Challenge.
The theme of the challenge was “Mechanized small-scale agriculture using renewable energy technologies.”
The Sogakofe SHS had previously triumphed in the 2023 regional and zonal competitions organized by the Energy Commission.
The Energy Commission described Sogakofe SHS’s 5-in-1 agricultural machine as a “game-changer” in the Renewable Energy Challenge for competing SHSs.
The machine is designed for slashing, spraying, harrowing, seed-sowing, and hole-digging.

The final positions in the Energy Commission SHS Renewable Energy Challenge 2023 were as follows:
1st Position – Sogakofe Senior High School (SOGASCO)
2nd Position – Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ Senior High School
3rd Position – Kwabre Senior High School
4th Position – Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School
5th Position – Dormaa Senior High School
6th Position – Serwaa Kesse Girls’ Senior High School
