South Sudan delegation visit Ghana to study TVET landscape

On Tuesday November 29, 2022 Mrs. Mawusi Nudekor Awity the Director General for Ghana TVET Service, received a delegation from South Sudan led by Mr. Richmond Williams from UNESCO office in Ghana paid a visit to Ghana TVET Headquarters.

The purpose of the visit was to familiarise themselves with the Operations and reforms being implemented by the Ghana TVET Service.

Engineer Christian Agordah, Acting Volta Regional Director of the Ghana TVET Service, in a detailed presentation enumerated policies and programs of the Service on;


a. Assessing TVET Education in Ghana- issues that informed the reforms in the TVET sub-sector, inadequate instructors, poor public perception of TVET etc.

b. The Major TVET Policies, TVET transformational agenda, the need to realign all the TVET providing instructions.

c. Agencies Realigned to the GTVET Service under Ministry of Education-GES-TVED-MOE, GRATIS &Tech Solutions  Centres- Ministry of Trade and Industry, Farm Institutes- Ministry of Agriculture.

d. Functions of Ghana TVET Service.

e. Management Structure of the TVET Service.

f. The Organogram of the Regional offices.


g. TVET achievement.

h. NTVETQF progression levels.

I. Stakeholder engagements and the

j. Awards won by the Director General of Ghana TVET Service.

The delegation from South Sudan responded to the presentation by stating the purpose of their visit which is to come on study and learn about the Ghana TVET Service System and Operations in order to emulate same in South Sudan.

Mr. Richmond Williams from UNESCO office in Ghana thanked the management of Ghana TVET Service for the warm reception.
The Delegation also visited the Opportunity Industrialization Technical Institute and East Legon Applied Technology Institute to have first hand information about the institutions,  programs they run, infrastructure and the Human Resource.

In Participation were the Deputy Director General, Technical and Operations Mr. David Prah, Deputy Director General for Management Services, Ms. Lily Djima and Management Staff of the Ghana TVET Service.
