South Tongu District Assembly Donates items to National Ambulance Service

The South Tongu District Assembly has donated some items to the Ghana National Ambulance Service to aid their working activities in the area.

The donation was done by Hon. Emmanuel Louis Agama, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of South Tongu District on September 18th, 2020 at the assembly.

The items donated include; 3 mattresses, 2 ceiling fans, 1landline telephone, 5bags of hand gloves, and 1HP desktop computer.

In a speech, Hon. Emmanuel Louis Agama said President Nana-Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has taken it upon himself to give a facelift to the Ghana National Ambulance Service since he resumed office as the president of the nation. He further explained that the donation was in line with several promises he made to support the Ambulance Service.

He pleaded with the Ambulance Service Commander to use the items effectively .

Mr. Mathias Akorli, The South Tongu District Commander of the Ghana National Ambulance Service, thanked the DCE for the support and said the donation would go a long way to help their work.

According to him, ever since they received the new ambulance from the government, one of their main challenges has been response to emergency issues, especially during the night times.

“What to sleep on during night duties is not there and even our communication is some way how the community members can reach out to his outfit for quick response to emergency issues is a problem. How to keep people’s vital information on a computer too is a very big challenge so we are most grateful to the DCE and government for giving us such a huge support and I must say that the donation was timely”, He added.
