Stonebwoy is the new ‘NPP artist” replacing Sarkodie – Bongo Ideas

X/Twitter Influencer Albert Nat Hyde, widely known as BongoIdeas, claims that the International reggae/dancehall artist Stonebwoy is the new ‘NPP artist,’ replacing the acclaimed rapper Sarkodie.
Stonebwoy at the said event, “Africa Prosperity Champions Awards & Presidential Dinner” performed his unreleased song titled “Believe in Africa”. He also performed “Run Go” which talked about the bad treatment of citizens by political heads in Ghana, and across the globe, Africa.
1GAD has from the inception of his musical career been talking about “unity” and collective win for all citizens irrespective of their condition(s).
His “Run Go” was an anthem in Nigeria during the #EndSars. Many other songs from his “kitchen” speak against corruption and bad governance hence, he adds his quota by using lyrics and and action to call for the best ruling and outcome.
Stonebwoy joined the #OccupyJuLorBiHouse demonstration to call for the best governance.
Based on Stonebwoy’s contribution through music and culture to the course Bongo is tagging him as bad will be difficult for the masses to comprehend.
Bongo Ideas’ insights have ignited a public discourse surrounding Stonebwoy’s alleged political affiliations and accusations of political hypocrisy.
According to Hyde, Stonebwoy’s journey into political circles began in 2018 when he received an invitation to the prestigious Jubilee House, the official residence and office of the President of Ghana. This initial interaction raised suspicions about the nature of Stonebwoy’s relationship with the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Further fueling the controversy he said Stonebwoy was reportedly appointed as a Member of the Internal Entertainment Board, a position perceived by many as a strategic move to align his career with the interests of the government. This appointment provided him with exclusive opportunities to perform at private parties hosted by influential NPP figures, solidifying his status as the preferred artist for party-related events.
Bongo’s claims suggest that Stonebwoy has been the sole beneficiary of entertainment gigs sponsored by the state, allegedly earning a substantial GHC1.5 million between 2018 and 2023 for government-sponsored shows. These financial benefits stated by Bongo Ideas have raised concerns about Stonebwoy’s artistry and the extent to which his success may be influenced by political motivations.
He again alleged that Stonebwoy enjoys certain privileges due to his affiliation with the NPP. Also, reports according to Bongo indicated that 1GAD possesses a diplomatic passport and frequently travels on state-sponsored trips, including his representation of Ghana at the AFCON 2023 tournament.

Also, Bongo added that Stonebwoy made headlines when he defended American rapper Meek Mill for shooting a music video at the Jubilee House. This event garnered public criticism, as many viewed it as a disregard for the sanctity of a location that symbolizes the nation’s governance.
