Stonebwoy wins TGMA Artiste of the Year

The Ghanaian heavyweight Reggae/Dancehall Artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla widely known in showbiz as Stonebwoy has won the biggest and ultimate plaque at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Award (TGMA) formerly known as Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA).

Stonebwoy at the event to grace creatives in the music industry swept six (6) awards. He beat stood tall among his competitors, Black Sherif, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Nacee and Sarkodie to win the award.

Awards Stonebwoy won at 2024 TGMA

  1. Artiste of the Year
  2. Album of the Year (5th Dimension)
  3. Best Dancehall Artiste of the Year
  4. Record of the Year (Stonebwoy ft. Angelique Kidjo “Manodzi”)
  5. Songwriter of the Year (Stonebwoy ft. Angelique Kidjo “Manodzi”)
  6. International Collaboration of the Year (Stonebwoy ft. Angelique Kidjo “Manodzi”)

Stepping on stage for the Artiste of the Year plaque, one of his chart-topping love songs off the 5th Dimension album “More of You” was played to amplify his hard work.

Appreciating, he called on her mum and acknowledged the blessings she showered and showering on him as a son. He stressed his hard work right from 2015 as the Artiste of the Year till date and prayed for more in the coming years.

Stonebwoy is now a 3-time winner of the Artiste of the Year category (2015, 2019, and 2024). Even though the 2019 award was not announced, he said he strongly believes that he is the winner of the ultimate but due to the fracas that year, the organizers are still holding it.

Stonebwoy proceeded and called on the organizers, Chatter House calmly to announce the winner of the 2019 AOTY.

To his fans, he extended a congratulatory message to all for the massive rotational support from day one.

To his wife, root (Volta Region), to his city of birth, Ashaiman, and the world, he appreciated all they have done for his career either in a minute or large way.

He also used the opportunity to shed light on the works of MC Portfolio, Master of Ceremony and one of the pillars who echoed the gigantic works of Stonebwoy as far as the 2023 TGMA calendar year of review is concerned.
