Teachers to pay GH¢200 for “Common” License Card – NTC

Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) has released approved fees and charges for License card, Renewal of license and Registration of teachers.

In a statement signed by the Registrar of NTC Christian Addai-Poku (PhD), dated 26th September, 2023 to the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), every teacher is expected to pay an amount of GH¢200.00 for a License card.

The Council also disclosed that, every teacher will be charged additional GH¢100.00 for Renewal of license and GH¢50 for Registration of teachers.

This, according to the National Teaching Council (NTC) forms part of its decision to implement the full range of fees and charges as approved by the Parliament of Ghana.

According to the provisions outlined in the fee and charges (Miscellaneous provisions) Act 2022, the NTC is now authorized to levy fees on its clientele.

These fees and charges will be applicable to all teachers, and it is imperative that they comply with the new regulations.

The implementation of these fees and charges is a significant step towards ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of the NTC’s regulatory functions.
