Franklin Cudjoe, who is the President and Founder of the IMANI Africa Centre for Policy and Education has also shared his concerns on the ongoing limited voter’s registration exercise.
The author and social political commentator was recently hosted on a live TV programme on Citi TV (Big Issue) where he expressed his concerns on the ongoing exercise.
He explained that the EC lacks accountability and has refused to take constructive measures to help attain a peaceful and successive exercise.
He said, “The EC has been allowed to become lawless for some time…it’s impervious to what ever advice is given to them”
He stressed on the EC’s strategy to limit the registration centers to it’s district offices to have been a poor procedure for the success of the exercise.
There have been a lot of disapproval of this procedure by the public, due to the fact that there are a lot of inconveniences for the numerous voters with respect to where these district offices are usually situated.
There have been appeals from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and others for expansion in accessible registration centers for easy and comfortable exercise.
Despite these appeals, the EC still holds on to it gun on its decisions and procedures with respect to this exercise.
