The North Pride, Noella Wiyaala (born December 22, 1986) is a Ghanaian Afro-pop singer who hails from Funsi and Tumu in Wa, Upper West, Ghana. She’s known (stage name) in the music industry by her family name “Wiyaala”
She attended Kanton Secondary High, Tumu
She’s a graduate of Takoradi Polytechnic
She sings in Sissala, Waala and English language.
In the year 2009, Wiyaala recorded her 1st album and titled it as “Tuma” which means (work) in her Sissala dialect.
Looking to establish a national career, she made the journey to Accra to audition for Ghana’s own “Stars of the Future.
At the third attempt in 2011, she earned her way into the finals, winning two Golden Moments awards.
Noella Wiyaala also won the 2012 Vodafone ICONS Mixed Edition contest hosted by fellow Ghanaian DJ “Benny Blanco”, as part of the Ghanaian band Black N Peach, while singing Tina Turner’s ‘Simply The Best’ ”
She’s not just a performer but a pride and voice for the Northern part of Ghana.
Wiyaala grew on the perceptions and tags of the Northerners therefore, she used her fame to echo the voice of the voiceless in her through joining hands with UNICEF Ghana, Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection of Ghana regions campaigns against child marriage, child poverty, health, and sanitation.
In 2015, she performed at African Festival in Netherlands Afrikadey Festival in Calgary, Canada
including United Kingdom (UK) festivals like : Shambala and Hull Freedom Festival.
