Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, better known by his stage as Tory Lanez, is a talented rapper, singer, and songwriter who was born in Canada. With the release of the mixtape “Conflicts of My Soul: The 416 Story” in August 2013, he began on his path to fame.
Through Interscope Records, Tory Lanez signed a contract with Mad Love Records in 2015 with the assistance of Benny Blanco. The popular singles “Say It” and “Luv,” which both rose to respectable rankings on the Billboard Hot 100 at positions 23 and 19, respectively, were featured on his first studio album, “I Told You” (2016). “Memories Don’t Die” and “Love Me Now?”, Lanez’s second and third studio albums, were released in 2018.

The story, however, changed on December 23, 2022, when Peterson was sentenced in the Los Angeles County Superior Court for three felonies connected to the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. On August 8, 2023, the drama came to a close with the sentence of 10 years in prison being given to him.
