As the University of Ghana remains in a state of jubilation from commemorating its 75th anniversary on August 11, 2023, a whole lot of events are unfolding across the campus this month.
Some of these activities involved the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and a prominent hall. In this article, a specific event focusing on sports within the university is discussed.
The University of Ghana has seen a significant development that represents a big step towards boosting the field of sports and its encouragement for growth.
This development is the formation of a crucial Sports Advisory Board, made up of a dynamic group of 18 individuals, spearheaded by none other than Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo.
The core of this board’s objective is the creation of a comprehensive sports plan that inspires participation from both students and staff across the university community while also fostering a wide range of sporting disciplines.
Prof. Gordon A. Awandare, Pro-Vice Chancellor (ASA), oversees this board as the chairperson.

These members were carefully chosen from a wide range of Administrative and Academic Departments, and they each bring a unique set of knowledge and expertise to the table.
