University of Ghana School of law withdraws over 20 students for academic non-performance

The University of Ghana School of Law has recently taken the decision to withdraw more than 20 students due to their academic non-performance, according to confirmed reports obtained by MyNewsGh.com.

The list, which MyNewsGh.com has access to, includes the names and ID numbers of the affected students, clearly indicating their failure to meet the minimum performance standards required to maintain their enrollment in the school.

Among the students who have been withdrawn, four (4) were regular law students, while the remaining 19 were weekend students who were admitted within the past two years to pursue the Postgraduate LLB Degree.

These students were informed of their withdrawal several weeks ago and were provided with the option to reapply to the school, subject to undergoing a new admission process.

Notably, some of the withdrawn students hold positions of prominence in various professional fields. This includes individuals who are the children of influential politicians but were unable to meet the minimum requirements to continue their education at the school.

The UG School of Law was initially established as a department under the Faculty of Social Studies in the academic year 1958/59.

It later evolved into a faculty during the 1960/61 academic year before attaining its current status as a full-fledged school in the academic year 2014/15.
