Honorable Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister for Communications and Digitalization says using unregistered SIMs will be more expensive after September 30th.
Speaking at a media engagement in Accra, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful said, mobile subscribers with unregistered SIMs will find it more expensive to use their SIMs after the September deadline.
The Minister further stated that the National Communications Authority (NCA) will in upcoming press conferences continue to update Ghanaians on the various punitive actions and laid down sanctions for unregistered mobile subscribers, after which all unregistered SIMs will be more expensive to use.
She said “ Sim re-registration will not be extended past September 30, afterwards all unregistered SIMs will be more expensive to use. At a subsequent press conference in September, the full scope of the sanctions will be revealed. If you suffer that fate as a result of your own inaction, kindly do not blame your service provider.”
Mrs Ursula ended her speech by saying “To be forewarned is to be forearmed.”
