The Minister for Communication and Digitalization, Honorable Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has revealed in a press engagement in Accra that the ongoing sim re-registration exercise will not be extended past 30th September, 2022 under her watch as Minister.
According to the Communications Minister, after careful examination and evaluation of the registration process at the end of August, the National Communications Authority (NCA) has concluded that introducing the disciplinary measures as outlined by the National Communications Authority (NCA) in their previous press release is necessary.
Hon Ursula Owusu said “I informed the media during my most recent meeting that the SIM registration exercise would not be extended past September 30. After evaluation at the end of August, it has been determined that starting the disciplinary steps outlined in the NCA press release is prudent.”
She also added that any SIM that has not yet been completely registered will be unable to use voice and Internet services.
