It reported that, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has plunged part of Gamenu into darkness.
Information picked by Coverghana.com.gh suggest that, some communities like Hawui Adidokpo, Kedzi, Aveta and Agbletorkoe in GAMENU Electoral Area in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region have been in the darkness over two months now due to faulty transformer and broken high tension poles.
These communities are highly populated ones in the electoral area including their viable economic activities like cold stores, drinking pubs, fruit juice manufacturing, MoMo Vendors and the likes that need the constant availability of electricity but the situation here is different.
Seyram Glah, the Secretary of Concerned Youth of GAMENU, all attempts by the Assembly Member of the Area and community members to get ECG fix the problems proved futile.
He explained that, this current situation has exposed the affected communities to insecurity, economic hardships, crawling business activities and so on.
Traditional Leadership of GAMENU Electoral Area including Youth Wing of the Community is as a matter of urgency calling on authorities including Political Heads in the Constituency to coerce ECG fix the power crises in the affected Communities.
Seyram Glah again said, failure on the part of authorities to help fix the situation would force the entire GAMENU Electoral Area onto the streets for protest.
