The accident involved two (2) vehicles, a fifteen (15)-sitter Ford Transit Mini bus with registration number GX 3886-16 which was heading towards Accra from Keta and a Hyund ai Universe Space Long bus number GT 6473-20 carrying thirty-one (31) passengers on board and was enroute to Aflao from Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The MTTD Boss told our newsteam that the Ford Transit Mini bus driver was wrongly overtaking another vehicle ahead of him when all of a sudden the long bus pulled up from the opposite direction. According to Superintendent Turkson, because the accident spot was in a curve, an attempt to completely swerve the long bus by skipping off the road failed, compelling the Hyundai Universe Space long bus driver to hit the Ford Transit bus in its middle portion, splitting the vehicle into two parts.
