The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahammadu Bawumia was part of the dignitaries who attended the just ended Hogbetsotso Festival celebrated in Anlo in the Volta Region.
Dr Mahammadu Bawumia was there not only to join the celebration but to also represent the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government and the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo.
In his speech, the Vice President expressed his concern over the economic crisis and explained that the hardship is as a result of a global economic slowdown.
He further outlined some of the projects and initiatives that the NPP government has put in place to make the lives of Ghanaians easier.
According to Dr Bawumia, the NPP government has;
- Created more jobs, roads and Interchanges. Advertisement
- Built more airports, railways, classrooms and fish landing sites.
- Restored nurses and teacher trainees allowances.
- Introduced the Ghana Card as a National ID.
- Introduced the Mobile money interoperability system for Telcos.
- Provided Drones for delivering medical equipment.
- Made it easier to Buy electricity.
- Introduced the 1 district 1 factory.
- Made a Paperless port system.
- Introduced self Renewal of National Health Insurance Card.
- Made it possible to Apply for student loan without guarantor.
- Provided Free water and electricity during covid lock down.
- Provided Free wifi for Senior High Schools and Colleges.
- Introduced the Zongo development fund.
- Covered medical cost of Childhood cancer.
- Free TVET and Free Senior High School
