[VIDEO] Entertainment in churches sometimes is too much; Pastors focus on “business” at the expense of healing -Eastwood Anaba
Rev. Eastwood Anaba
Rev. Eastwood Anaba the Founder, President, and CEO of Eastwood Anaba Ministries (EAM) has expressed his dissatisfaction about how pastors are not focused on the right work of God. They focus on entertainment more than the gospel.
According to Rev. Eastwood Anaba, the entertainment in churches sometimes is too much. It takes away productive time for ministry work and healing members battling with sicknesses among others.
Rev. Anaba stated that even though singing and dancing are acceptable, many churches abuse them. They dedicate long periods to entertainment instead of preaching and healing.

“If you remove the entertainment what is left in church?” he quizzed.
What is the purpose of the church? he added further.
Comparing, Rev. Anaba talked about the purpose of running churches, eateries (chop bars), and bus stops. He said chop bars do not play praises and worship before they present the menu. Therefore he expects churches to focus on the purpose instead of the too much entertainment.
Contributing to the entertainment in church as Rev. Anaba disclosed, a concerned Christian shared his “little” knowledge.
“This man is one of the most truthful preachers and I respect him and see his point.. he really wants to see the right things done..
However, the entertainment through music is not the challenge, it’s the misunderstanding of the purpose of music in religious settings that has caused this confusion.
Music is one of the most misunderstood things in this world, especially by great leaders who never really learned the true purpose of it, its dimensions, and influence.

This is not the fault of these great spiritual leaders because the errors were really loud already when they came to meet it, so their perception of music was always tainted by these loud errors they heard repeated by people that they also respected.
Truth is, the performance of Music itself has more to do with ‘healing’ than anything else; and the performance of music operates through the action of entertainment…
Unfortunately, church music these days has been structured by pastors in a way that the action of entertainment is more self-serving and centered on impressing the pastors and his program than for the true purpose of music which is to create atmospheres where divinity and humanity meet..
The ‘act’ of entertainment in itself is not bad, it’s a by-product of the law of ‘rest’ instituted by God to bring ‘refreshment’ to the spirit, soul, and body of mankind.

It can be abused though, by making it about something less than it is meant for; and this abuse is what selfish people have turned ‘pop’ music into, as well as what modern churches have made gospel music into..
The only way things will change for the better is for people to actually begin to research the true purposes of music and its functions in the society from Religious functions, through Social, Economic, Cultural, and spiritual functions.
Then and only then shall we know the ‘Truth’ about music, and the truth we know will make us FREE.. #mytwopesewas”
