Over the past two weeks, there have been many media reports over the outbreak of Covid-19 cases in some of the Senior High Schools in the country which were reopened on June 22, 2020 for Form 3 Senior High School students as well as Form 2 SHS students on Gold Track.

One of such senior high schools which has been in the news due to reports of Covid-19 outbreak in the school is the all female senior high school, Accra Girls.

On Monday 13th July, 2020, the Ghana Education Service and the Ghana Health Service issued a joint press release in which they indicated 55 (Students and Staff) have tested Positive for the covid-19 virus.

Speaking in an interview on asempa FM, the Minister for Education Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh revealed that the Covid-19 cases recorded in the Accra Girls Senior High School was brought into the school by three(3) day Students as the school infastructure was not able to absorb all day students to become boarders.
