The 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates of South Tongu District in the Volta Region are very determined to raise the BECE performance of the District.

According to the candidates, they will strive harder to score a 100% in the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) which is scheduled to commence on Monday, 15th November, 2021 to Friday, 19th November, 2021.

Speaking on behalf of the candidates, the girls’ prefect of the Sogakope Junior High School “B” (JHS “B”) Elorm Kokofi said, they will do their best to record 100% in the 2021 BECE.

The candidates are so much grateful to the District Director of Education Evelyn Araba Zentey (Ms) and especially the Honourable Member of Parliament for the South Tongu Constituency Mr. Wisdom Kobena Mensah Woyome for their support towards improving quality education in the area.

The candidates said this as the Member of Parliament visited some selected schools in the District to donate examination materials (Mathematical sets) to the students.

On Monday, 8th November, 2021, the Member of Parliament has visited some selected schools and presented the examination materials to the students ahead of the final year examination.

Some of the schools he visited were, Sokpoe D/A Junior High School, Tefle Presbyterian church Ghana, (PCG) Junior High School, Sogakope Junior High School “B”, Sogakope Senior High School JHS, Dabala Junction R/C Junior High School and Dabala E.P Junior High School.

The Member of Parliament has presented a total of two thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine (2,999) Mathematical sets to the South Tongu District Education Directorate to be distributed to all 2021 BECE candidates in the area.

The MP encouraged the students to make good use of the resources spent on them in order to make their parents, teachers, guardians, the education directorate, district director and him proud in this year’s Examination.

The students upon receiving the materials has praised the MP for his kind gestures, benevolence and support in ensuring that, they are equipped with the necessary examination materials for the upcoming BECE.

The District Director of Education, Evelyn Araba Zentey (Ms.) admonished the students not to engage themselves in examination malpractices.

The District Director explained that, a total of 2, 999 candidates have been registered for the 2021 BECE in South Tongu District. According to her, the number constitutes 1,138 females and 1,161 males.

She expressed her appreciation to the MP for his support. The director also appealed to the MP to extend his support to other areas of the education sector.
