Volta Region: Volunteering team, BuzStopBoyz shares expansion plan with Volta Regional Minister
The leading sanitation and volunteering team, BuzStopBoyz in the capital, has met the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu to congratulate his appointment and share their expansion plan to the region and beyond.
Updating, Hon. Gunu disclosed that on February 11, 2025, he had the pleasure of welcoming Buz Stop Boys, led by their President, Heneba Kwadwo Safo, as they paid him a courtesy call to congratulate him on his appointment and share their inspiring vision of promoting a clean and green environment through patriotism, volunteerism, and selflessness.
“Currently making a difference in Accra and Kumasi, their work in lightening up communities and keeping public spaces clean is commendable. I am excited about their plans to expand to Volta Region and other parts of the nation, and I assured them of my support in making this a reality,” Honourable James Gunu expressed.
“Keeping our environment clean is a collective responsibility. I recalled how, during Hon. Julius Debrah’s tenure as Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, we had Sanitation Day, where District Assemblies took the lead in cleaning their surroundings. It’s time to reignite that spirit of environmental responsibility, including reintroducing personal hygiene checks in schools, just as we experienced in the past.”
“We must also tackle waste at its source and explore ways to turn waste into wealth whether by generating electricity, fertilizer, or other useful resources,” Hon. Gunu calls for collective hands.
“I commend Buz Stop Boys for their incredible work and encourage more partnerships that will promote sustainability and environmental consciousness in the Volta Region,” he added.
