Ghanaians across the country has applauded the people of the North Tongu Constituency in the Volta Region of Ghana for being the most organized constituency during the first day of the Electoral Commission’s registration exercise.
While people were criticizing Electoral Commission officials and lamenting about the Electoral processes at other registration centres, the people of North Tongu Constituency are seriously registering for their voter’s ID card.
The Electoral Commission officials at the North Tongu Constituency did not struggle with the people for the first day of the registration exercise. Coverghana.com.gh can report that, applicants who were at the registration centres in the constituency strictly followed the rules and regulations outlined by the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
The Member of Parliament for the Constituency Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who toured some registration centres in the District also applauded his constituents for being law abiding citizens.
Mr. Ablakwa who was impressed about the situation promised unannounced prize for the most law abiding registration centres within his constituency. “There shall be special prizes for the most COVID-19 safety protocols compliant polling stations in North Tongu.” He promised.
He also added that, the turnout in the North Tongu Constituency for day one of the registration exercise was impressive. According to him, some people went to the registration centre as early as 5am.
Mr. Ablakwa noted that, the people within his constituency are determined to register in order to vote out ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in forthcoming December 7, 2020 general elections.
