WAEC Distinction Awards Winners for WASSCE 2022

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) recently held its annual Distinction Awards Ceremony to recognize the exceptional performance of candidates in the WASSCE for School Candidates, 2022.

The ceremony celebrates students who have excelled in their academic pursuits and achieved remarkable results in the WASSCE.

The event highlighted the achievements of several students, including Alex Opoku Manu, a former student of St. James Seminary School, who emerged as the Overall Best Candidate in the 2022 examination and was also named the Best Candidate in the entire region.

Benjamin Enyram Nana Kwame Degbey, another former student of St. James Seminary SHS in Sunyani, placed second overall in the Ghana WASSCE (SC) 2022 and was also the 2nd Best in the entire region.

Abena Afriyie Poku of the Holy Child SHS in Cape Coast was the 3rd Overall Best Candidate.

In addition to the overall awards, several students were recognized for their outstanding performance in specific academic programs. Mubarak Illiasu Danaa of the T.I Ahmadiyya SHS in Kumasi was awarded Best General Arts Programme, while Ewura Esi Adobea Otieku-Boadu of the Westly Girls High School in Cape Coast received the Best Home Economics Programme award.

Ato Kwamena Quansah of Presbyterian Boy’s SHS in Legon was named Best Candidate for Business Programme. Alex Opoku Manu of St. James Seminary SHS in Sunyani received the Best General Science Programme award in addition to the overall Best awards.

The Distinction Awards Ceremony serves as a testament to the hard work and dedication of these students who have excelled in their academic pursuits.
