The (New Patriotic Party) NPP has recently denied the allegations of harnessing the attack on the United Showbiz program on UTV which has garnered a lot of talks and concerns by the general public on the insecurity in the world of journalism currently.
The Barbaric incident happened on Saturday, 7th of October 2023, when an unknown thugs invaded the premises of the television station during the live broadcast of the program (United Showbiz) .
According to Reports, their actions were based on the recent brouhaha of the NPP and the UTV to be precise the actions of Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus who is among the media journalist and guest of the late night show.
According to the director of communications department for the NPP, Richard Ahiagba in a an interview the party is not responsible for the unacceptable actions of the invaders and clarified that the party did not sanction anyone to execute such actions.
He said, “The party did not sanction anyone to go and disrupt the United Showbiz program as was reported. We have moved swiftly to make an apology to them, and we are going to cooperate with the police to investigate the matter”
