The Minister for Trade and Industry-designate, Mr. Alan Kyerematen says his Ministry under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s Govermment is on the right path to addressing Ghana’s trade deficit.
According to Mr. Alan Kyerematen currently, between sugar, rice and poultry, the New Patriotic Party government has imported close to one (1) billion dollars worth of products. This underpins the decision of the President for Ghana to launch a comprehensive programme for industrial transformation, which his ministry has been leading.

“We have very comprehensive interventions that we have put in place to build the capacity of local businesses to import-substitute and also produce these products for export. We’re already on the right path.” He explained.
