The Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Ghana in charge of Corporate Service Bossman E. Asare believes that, the Commission under the leadership of Mrs. Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission has conducted a peaceful and successful December 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Over the past two weeks after the December 2020 Polls, many Ghanaians including the Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama claimed the elections were flawed and rigged for the incumbent President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo by the Electoral Commission.

Electoral Commission goes on a month break

This has led to the rejection of the Presidential election results by Mr. John Dramani Mahama who accused EC for cooking the results for NPP and President Akufo-Addo.

Mr. Mahama noted that, he and NDC will not accept fictional results of a flawed elections, because there is no doubt Ghanaians voted for change and EC subvert the will of Ghanaians.

Senior leadership and Some key operational staff will be at Post during Our Christmas break – Electoral Commission

Though there were continued public backlash on the Electoral Commission, Bossman E. Asare (PHD) in a Christmas and New Year break notice said, the Commission’s has conducted a peaceful and successful elections.

“Following the successful and peaceful conduct of the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections, Management has
decided that the Commission will break for Christmas and New Year on Wednesday, 23” December, 2020 and resume duty on Tuesday, 19 January, 2021. He said.

His statement came as a shock to many Ghanaians as they claim the Electoral Commission has not done well as compared to previous leadership.
