What’s the fate of WASSCE Candidates in conflict-prone areas?: D-G of GES tells fate of Bawku, Nkwanta WASSCE Candidates

Director-General of Ghana Education Service (D-G of GES) Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis has detailed plans underway for WASSCE 2025 candidates in conflict-prone areas such as Bawku SHS, Nalerigu SHS, Zuarungu SHS, and Nkwanta SHS.
According to the Director-General of GES on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, WASSCE 2025 candidates in conflict-prone areas such as Bawku SHS, Nalerigu SHS, Zuarungu SHS, and Nkwanta SHS will write the WASSCE at their originally designated centres under safe, secure, and exam-friendly conditions.
Prof. Davis also promised adequate security measures to ensure their protection is well covered. Also, he assured giving psychosocial counselling to Learners who may be affected by the conflict.
“Adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure their protection. Additionally, psychosocial counselling is available for Learners who may be affected by the conflict.”
“We assure all stakeholders that our candidates are safe and well-supported to take the exams,” D-G of GES concluded in his statement as the WASSCE 2025 writing date approaches.
