Ishmael Sam was born on January 16, 1966, in Ghana.

Ishmael Sam’s Education

Ishmael Sam is a PhD candidate in Public Administration, Policy, and Governance at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

He also holds a Master of Theology (MTh) from the Trinity Theological Seminary; a theologian with an emphasis on Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity and Media.

He attended Sekondi College from 1978 to 1985 for his O-levels and A-levels.

He worked at the Bank of Ghana from 1989 until early 1993 when he entered into full-time ministry.

Ishmael Sam’s Spiritual Journey and Call to Ministry

Bishop Sam’s spiritual journey began at a young age. He joined the Lighthouse Chapel in the late 1980s, where he was appointed as the first follow-up director by the founder, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills.

Later, he became a pastor in June 1991 and transitioned to full-time ministry in March 1993. He has been mentored by Bishop Dag Heward-Mills.

Bishop Sam is the resident bishop of the Truth Cathedral, Loyalty House International, a denomination of the United Denominations Originating from The Lighthouse Group Of Churches (UD-OLGC).

He travels extensively to preach and teach in Ghana and across the world. Since 2012, he has embarked on an annual tour in Eastern Europe, delivering sermons and imparting teachings in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.

However, beginning in 2020, with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent outbreak of war in Ukraine in 2022, this preaching tour has seamlessly transitioned into a virtual format utilizing live broadcasts, recorded sessions, Zoom meetings, and other online platforms, ensuring that his message continues to reach the faithful.

Additionally, he holds the annual Transform Your Ministry Conference in Dawhenya, where ministers are ordained and equipped to serve in the ministry.
