“Who sent a full Platoon of Soldiers to the Techiman South Collation Center ? – Bright Simons

Renowned writer and vice-president of IMANI Mr. Bright Simons has questioned the source of the order which deployed armed soldiers to the Techiman South Collation Center during the 7th December, 2020 Election.

It could be recalled that videos and media reports indicated how a ‘platoon’ of soldiers was deployed to a collation center in the Techiman South Constituency after some disagreement between the supporters of the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party.

During the scuffle between the supporters of the New Patriotic Party, the National Democratic Congress and the soldiers, two persons sustained gun shot wounds.

Commenting on the incident, Mr. Bright Simons has questioned the source of the order which deployed the full platoon of soldiers to the Techiman South Collation Center.

In a tweet, Mr. Bright Simons also questioned why the person who issued the order for the security Personnels to be deployed to the coalition center choose to send armed soldiers and not the Police Personnels.

Mr. Bright Simons said;

“As the dust settles & we catch up on news, burning questions are beginning to take shape. Who sent a full platoon of soldiers to the Techiman South Collation Center & why not the Police? Why has the Police HQ issued no statement about investigations into the 3 alleged deaths?”
