The Ghana Revenue Authority has put measures in place and have digitized the auction of seized goods and services.

The Authority has therefore initiated a program that has to do with building a platform online to ensure smooth running of goods and products auctioned by the Authority at the Tema Port in Greater Accra region.

This new development, with the name E – Auction is to serve as a means of controlling and preventing corruption in all forms related to auctions of vehicles and other goods at the various ports in the country.

Rev. Amisshadai Owusu Amoah, the Commissioner General of the Ghana Revenue Authority in his address at the GRA Service Charter launch explained that by the end of October 2022, anyone who intends to make a purchase of auctioned products will have the chance to do so online and at their comfort without necessarily moving to the office.

He said “ We have the E-VAT, E-invoicing and other innovative means which customers are able to pay taxes and avoid some alleged corruption in our various offices. Another initiative is that by the end of October, we want to begin an E-Auction at the ports so that if you want to buy a car, just be home and click to search the kind of car you want without coming to the port”.

The Commissioner General in ending his speech reiterated that the Ghana Revenue Authority remains committed to serving the nation at all times and that they will not back down on their promise to serve.
