The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi North in Ahafo Region, Anthony Mensah has cautioned electorates for the December 2020 polls not vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in order not to see their lives doomed for the next four years.

He said this when the Asutifi North Constituency held a Fundraising and Inauguration of Finance Logistics & Budget Committee Towards Agenda 5,000 at the Nana Osei Kofi Abiri Social Center in Kenyasi No.1.

Addressing party faithfuls and other invited guests, the DCE explained that, the NDC under the leadership of Former President John Dramani Mahama is like an empty barrel meaning it (NDC) has no better plans for Ghanaians when voted into power and it manifested from 2012 to 2016 when he led the country.

” During his regime Ghanaians went through hell where most people couldn’t afford three square meal ” he stated.

According to him, for the first time the country woke up to the cancellation of teacher – nursing trainee allowance by John Dramani Mahama which became a talking point globally because it was a matter of concern.

He explained that the NDC government then strongly fought against the free education meant for Senior High School students as one of the flashy campaign messages of then the opposition party, New Patriot Party (NPP) led by now President Nana Addo Dankwa to the extent of staging over 40 advertisements against it (Free SHS).

He said, during the tenure of John Mahama, youth unemployment figures kept rising due to how the country was poorly managed to the extent that, for the first time in the history of Ghana, there was a group called The Unemployment Graduates Association. ” Mahama and his DCE are bad managers of this country” he claimed.

On health, Anthony Mensah in an interview monitored by Sammy Asare, one of our reporters revealed that the NDC being the longest serving political party in the history of Ghana was able to manage the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) which was initiated by the NPP under the leadership of Former President John Agyekum Kufffour as Ghanaians expected. ” They said it will be one time premium but for eight years they couldn’t ” he said.

” With these and many more of which time won’t allow me to explain to you, it’s obvious that NDC and John Dramani Mahama are not certainly the option ” the DCE to electorates.

The Constituency Campaign Coordinator, Albert Adu Boahene popularly called Righteous explained that the campaign team decided and agreed to stage the said event to financially support the party and its parliamentary candidate because in politics money plays significant role.

” Managing the party needs money but certainly not from government coffers so this exercise was vital and has been fruitful ” he stated.

On whether the party can attain the Agenda 5000 vote difference the Constituency Campaign Coordinator categorically said measures are in place and far advance to reach the target. He expressed per the initiatives rolled out by President Akufo Addo it is certain that electorates in the Constituency will vote for the party to continue its performance.

The areas the money generated from the fundraising will cover include : constituency campaign team, zonal campaign teams, electoral area campaign teams, polling station campaign teams, media and communications, constituency wings and others.
