The Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, has reiterated the stance of some members of the Majority Caucus in Parliament. It may be recalled that quite recently, a number of 80 majority members of Parliament led by Hon Andy Appiah Kuni held a presser championing the dismissal of the Finance Minister, Hon Ken Ofori-Atta.

According to the honorable member, about 98 Majority or NPP MPs are set to boycott the budget presentation and Finance Ministry’s business until Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta’s appointment is terminated with immediate effect by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Speaking on behalf of the aggrieved majority group, the Asante Akyem Legislator stated that the position of the Finance Minister in the governance of the country has become untenable thus the numerous calls for his dismissal.
Hon Appiah Kubi made these comments after the group had been tagged as relaxed in its demand following a close door meeting with the President of the Republic, H.E Nana Akufo-Addo.
