A teacher urgently needs GH¢100,000 for kidney transplant surgery

A newly recruited teacher Mr. Agbeko Kirk urgently needs an amount of one hundred thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢100,000.00) to undergo a kidney transplant surgery.

Agbeko is a newly recruited teacher teaching at the Biakpa E.P Basic School in Ho West District of the Volta Region, Ghana.

The family of Agbeko Kirk, in a statement copied to the front deck of Coverghana.com.gh is passionately appealing to the general public for financial support for their son, Agbeko Kirk who is currently undergoing Renal Dialysis (Kidney) treatment at Ho Teaching Hospital (Trafalgar).

Agbeko Kirk who is currently undergoing Dialysis spends GH¢500.00 every week at Ho Teaching Hospital for treatment ahead of the surgery.

According to the head of Renal Unit at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital Dr. Vincent Boima, the cost of surgery for kidney transplant in the Korle-Bu for the year 2019 amounted to one hundred thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢100,000.00). The cost, according to Dr. Vincent Boima may be reviewed this year based on management’s direction.

He further noted that, this cost covers both donor and recipient in respect of the under listed services among others;

1. Laboratory services – in home.

2. Medication for one month after treatment.

3. Surgical Procedures.

4. Post-Operation care
