Akatsi College of Education (AKATSICO) has announced available vacancies for workers and Tutors and is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons.

Needed Works Assistants

The College needs suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacancies in the College:

• Works Assistant (Electrician)
• Works Assistant (Mason)
• Labourers

WORKS ASSISTANTS

DUTIES

The Works Assistants shall perform general works and maintenance duties in their fields (Electrical or Masonry) including repair and maintenance of
equipment.

Qualification and Experience

Applicant for this category of work MUST hold NVTI or its equivalent in Electricals or Masonry. City and Guilds could be considered. GCE ‘O’ Level, WASSCE or SSSCE passes including English Language will be an added advantage.

Candidate must have a work experience of at least five years, must be physically
fit and not below 25 years of age.

LABOURERS: Duties & Requirements

DUTIES

The labourer would be responsible for the general cleaning and sanitation of the College environment.

REQUIREMENT

Candidate must be physically fit and not below 20 years and above 35 years of
age. A certificate of formal education will be an advantage.

AKATSICO is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the
vacancy of Tutors of the following courses in the College.

Needed Course Tutors

The following Course Tutors are needed for employment in AKATSICO:

• Agricultural Science
• ICT

Qualification and Experience

ICT

The needed qualification and experience ICT Tutors are as follows:

• Applicant MUST hold a good first degree and a research Master’s degree in ICT.
• Both degrees must be in the same subject area and MUST have served as a Tutor in a College of Education or a recognised tertiary or Senior High institution for at
  least three (3) years.

Agricultural Science

The needed qualification and experience for Agricultural Science Tutors are as follows:

• Applicant MUST hold a good first degree in General Agriculture and a Master of Philosophy degree in a relevant Agricultural Science area
• Applicant MUST have served
  as a Tutor in a College of Education or a recognised tertiary or Senior High institution for at least three (3) years.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties of a tutor shall include:

• Teaching

• Setting questions and marking of scripts of assignments and examination

• Invigilation of examinations

• Supervision of students’ projects

• Research and publications

• Assisting in the administration of the departments

• Supervision of students’ internships

• Extension work/service to the College and the nation

• Any other related duties assigned by the Principal or his/ her representative

• Current Curriculum Vitae

• Referees of two (2) persons. At least one (1) of them MUST be the last employer
