Following the arrest of the popular Ghanaian man of God, Bishop Dr. Daniel Obinim on Tuesday, 19th May, 2020 by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service, the latest news shows that, he was granted bail worth one hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵100,000). 

According to reports sighted by Coverghana.com.gh, the bail granted by the Police CID includes three (3) sureties. The police statement said, Bishop Dr. Daniel Obinim will have to re-appear before the Accra High Magistrate Court on 1st June, 2020 to justify one of the sureties.

In reference to reports available, the kind and caring philanthropist who always describe himself as the “ONLY” Ghanaian Angel of God, has been lashed with two separate charges thus; an “offence of publication of false news and forgery of document contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offences Act, 1960 (ACT 29) respectively.”

The police statement issued and signed by the Deputy Superintendent, Head of Public Affairs Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department, Ms. Juliana Obeng suggests that, the suspect, Bishop Dr. Daniel Obinim is also under investigation for other offences leveled against him.

The Police has also entreated the general public to disregard the viral video circulating on social media to  have been the motive behind the arrest of Bishop Dr. Daniel Obinim.

BACKGROUND 

The Founding Father and the General Overseer of the International Gods Way Church, Bishop Dr. Daniel Obinim was arrested on Tuesday, 19th May, 2020 by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service, following his clash with Hon. Kennedy Agyapong who threatened to expose the man of God for publication of false news and forgery of document. 

According to the Law maker, he has evidence that could send Bishop Obinim to jail when revealed. Soon after his arrest, he was admitted at a hospital in East Legon after he complained of illness.
