The Volta Regional Education Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced basic requirements to qualify for Vehicle Maintenance Allowance and prescribed documents one needs to attach to the application letter when applying.
According to the management of the Volta Regional Education Directorate, they have noted with grave concern that some unqualified staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Region, have been applying for the Vehicle Maintenance Allowance, and those are qualified have not been attaching required documents to facilitate the process.

The letter signed by the Regional Director of Education Enyonam Afi Amafuga (Ms), in order to avoid the unnecessary delay in processing such documents, the Directorate writes to notify and sensitize all staff of Ghana Education Service (GES) on the basic requirements to qualify for Vehicle Maintenance Allowance, and the required documents to be attached to the application letter for strict compliance.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY FOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE
1 . A Senior Staff on/above salary level 16.
ii. At least six (6) years in Service.
iii. Applicant DOES NOT OCCUPY a position where an official vehicle has been assigned.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO ATTACH TO THE APPLICATION LETTER
l . Municipal/District Director’s Covering Letter.
2. Completed Personal Record Form.
3. Recent Payslip.
4. STC Motor Engineer’s Report and Certificate of Valuation.
5. DVLA Form A.
6. DVLA Form C.
7. Transfer/Change of Ownership Letter.
8. Certificate of Insurance.
9. Roadworthy Certificate (front & back).
10. First Appointment Letter.
l l . Highest Academic/Professional Certificate.
By a copy of this letter, all Municipal/District Directors of Education are officially informed and notified about the basic requirements to qualify for Vehicle Maintenance Allowance and the required attachments.
Municipal/District Directors of Education are kindly requested to bring this important information to the attention of staff in their Municipalities and Districts for strict compliance.
