The Ghana Education Service (GES) has unveiled a proposed academic calendar for basic schools for the 2023/2024 academic year.
This proposed academic calendar spans 38 weeks for the three terms.
The first term will run for 12 weeks, starting from October 3, 2023, and concluding on December 21, 2023. This marks the beginning of the academic year for basic schools.
Following a short break, the second term will commence on January 9, 2024, and continue for 14 weeks, concluding on April 11, 2024. Students will be busy with their studies during this period.
Finally, the third term will run for 12 weeks, from May 7 to July 25, 2024. This term will wrap up the academic year for basic schools.
Parents, stakeholders, and all concerned parties are urged to take note of these dates to ensure a smooth and productive academic year for the students.
