He urged them to take their academic work very seriously and encouraged them to also read other relevant materials outside their course contents.“Your success in life will not rest only on the course materials you are given. You are therefore encouraged to read the students guide and the conduct of the undergraduate programme that will be given you. Read them, know the rules and comply with them.”

Furthering his statement, he intimated, “One of our core mandates as an SRC is to champion your welfare and defend you. But we can only defend you and get you exonerated if you are at the side of the law. If you fall short of the law, it makes our work very difficult.”
