Castrate me if EC successfully compile an entirely new voter’s register – Efo Worlanyo

The national debate on the Electoral Commission’s decision to compile an entirely new voter’s register is increasing every single day among Ghanaians, political parties, traditional leaders, religious leaders and civil society organization.

In a latest development, the brave Bono Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo said, he should be castrated  alive if the Electoral Commission of Ghana under the leadership of Mrs. Jean Mensa successfully compile an entirely new Biometric voter’s register.

Mr. Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo who was speaking on Sunyani-based Dinpa FM monitored by Coverghana.com.gh news team disclosed that, he has the conviction that the Electoral Commission will not be able to compile an entirely new voter’s register ahead of the December 7 elections.

“I’m throwing a challenge to you and your producer, mark my words, the completely new register will never happen. If it does, have me on record, you should all look for me, catch me and castrate me” – He told the Host.

Meanwhile, among the controversial debate and public rejection of compiling a new register, the Electoral Commission has on 2nd June, 2020 and 3rd June, 2020 piloted the registration exercise across its sixteen (16) regional offices.

The Electoral Commission has subsequently declared 30th June, 2020 for the commencement of the new voter’s registration exercise immediately the C.I 126 has been passed by the Ghanaians Legislative House thus; the Parliament of Ghana with 106 major votes against 92 minority votes.

The passage of the C.I 126 into law has allowed the Electoral Commission of Ghana to use the Ghana Card and the Ghanaian passport as eligibility requirements for one to has his/her name on the new voter’s register
