Don’t attack our opponents; campaign on our existing records – NPP Campaign Team

The electioneering activities towards the December 2020 polls has began as political parties commence strategic plans to win the heart of voters across the Country.

In order to make decent and open campaign, the National Campaign Team of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a statement calling on its party communicators and sympathies not to attack their political opponents during electioneering campaign processes.

In a press statement signed by the Deputy Campaign Team manager of the governing New Patriotic Party Hon. Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, the party has directed its spokespersons that, no one should make reference to opponents’ ethnicity, religion or gender when debating on issues.

According to the Minister for Inner Cities and Zongo Development the party is confident that, there are enough achievements they can boast for hence, communicators should speak only on track records and refrain from political attacks on opponents.

The President of the Republic of Ghana and presidential candidate of the NPP and the 2020 campaign team, wish to remind its faithfuls, that the party’s philosophy of positive engagement still holds valid.

We therefore urge all who speak for, or purport to speak for the party to refrain from attacking political opponents. We specifically ask that no reference should ever be made to opponents’ ethnicity, religion or gender.

We shall campaign on our record and win. Indeed, there is enough to speak about with regard to our record. We cannot beat our opponents in the politics of calumny. Let us therefore refrain.
