Dr. Bawumia launches National Youth Volunteer Program

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana has launched a National Youth Volunteer Program.

The program, which took place at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi on Monday, April 11 was designed by the National Youth Authority (NYA) to evoke the spirit of volunteerism in the Ghanaian youth.

Dr. Bawumia, in addressing the public, stated that the government is investing in Education, Vocational and technical training and technology to empower the youth as a way of preparing them for the future.

The National Youth Volunteer Program (NYVP) is aimed at coordinating volunteer activities in the country and will implement modules to develop active citizens, foster national cohesion and creat opportunities for skills development among young people.

Some of the areas the program is expected to produce active young are Agriculture, Education, Health, Infrastructure, Afforestation, Community Self-Help Programme, Science, Research and Technology.
