ABOUT GHANA CARD BECOMING AN E-PASSPORT
The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana on 11th February, 2022 made a statement in which he stated that the Ghana National Identity Card has now been approved by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to recognized globally as a valid e-passport/ID card.
In practical terms according to the vice President, this means that it will now be faster and more effective for border control authorities to verify the identity of holders of the Ghanacard.
