The Minister of Energy Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has been honoured with ‘The Most Innovative Minister of the Decade’ award.
The former Minister of Education, was awarded during the Ghana Union of Professional Students (GUPS) PRO Awards event at the Teachers’ Hall in Accra.
GUPS, which began as the Society for Professional Institute, has a rich and impressive pedigree as the largest umbrella body of professional students in the country, drawn from 15 ratified educational institutions.
In the Minister’s remarks, he commended GUPS for its continued efforts at promoting the interests of professional students in this country.
Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh further stated that over the years in his public service as a Minister under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he has always believed in providing the right leadership in order to help make the lives of our people better.
The Energy Minister also noted that it was important to provide the necessary leadership in delivering our mandate as a government, which means broad consultation, careful consideration of all options and innovative thinking to surmount our challenges.
“This country needs our collective efforts in making her a better place, and I am confident that together we will achieve so much.” He added.
