Education: Prez. Nana Addo to lunch $218.7m GALOP intiative tomorrow
The ministry of education under the leadership of Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has release a press statement dated 17th June,2020 in which the ministry indicated that President Nana Akufo Addo will on Thursday 18th June,2020 formally launch the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project
(GALOP) at the Jubilee House, Accra.
The (GALOP) initiative is a 5-year results-based financing project, with disbursement of project funds to the Ministry of Education being contingent on the achievement of predetermined results and is targeted at the 10,000 least performing
Basic Schools (Kindergarten, Primary and Junior High) across the country as
well as all special schools with direct interventions.

The GALOP initiative aims to support the Ministry of Education’s Education Strategic Plan (ESP 2018-2030), which has quality, access, equity, sustainability and relevance as its key priority areas in order to provide equitable access to quality basic education to all Ghanaian children.
This $218.7m project is jointly funded by the World Bank, Department for
International Development (DIlD) and Global Partnerships for Education
(GPE).
