Records available to Coverghana.com.gh confirmed that, Francisca Lamini of Keta Senior High Technical School (SHTS) becomes the first female students to make it to National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) finals in the last eight (8) years.
Coverghana.com.gh researches reaffirmed that, no female students has ever appeared at the grand finale after the 2013 contest which featured St. Thomas Aquinas SHS, Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School and Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS where the St. Thomas Aquinas emerged the winner.
Francisca Lamini, the outstanding young lady, sets this records after eight years as KETASCO made history for the Volta Region in the ongoing 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) contests.
The school made the first appearance at the grand finale of the 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz contests.
Keta SHTS defeated the Wesley Girls’ Senior High School and the Tamale Senior High School at the Semi-Final to booked a place at the grand finale for the first time in the history of the Volta Region.
Since the commencement of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), no school from the Volta Region has qualified from the Semi-Final stage to the finals.
The performance of Keta Senior High Technical School from the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region is a dream come through for the school, constituents and especially, Voltarains across the globe.
Earlier, the contestants of Keta Senior High Technical School won St. Louis SHS and Ghana National College at the Quarter-Final Stage who miraculously answered an incomplete question during the ongoing National Science and Mathematics Quiz Contest.
At this moment, even if KETASCO fails to win the trophy, they remain the first school from the Volta region and Oti Region to make it to the finals of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
