The official lineup for Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, has been unveiled for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D’Ivoire. Notable absences from the squad include Thomas Partey, an Arsenal player.

The official squad, which was revealed on January 1, 2024, Monday, stated that important players including Abdul Baba Rahman and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku would not be competing in the competition. Hughton clarified that Partey’s continuous struggle with ailments played a factor in the decision to leave him out.
