The Special Prosecutor, Martin A.B.K Amidu has released an update report on the corruption allegations against the Chief Executive Officer of the of the Public Procurement Authority Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei.

It could be recalled that the President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo in a letter dated 22nd August, 2019 referred allegations of corruption against the Chief Executive  Officer (C. E.O.) of the Public Procurement Authority to the office of the Special Prosecutor to investigate after the airing of the ‘Contracts for Sale’ documentary by Manasseh Azure Awuni.

Several months after the referral of the Corruption allegations against the PPA boss Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei to Mr. Martin Amidu’s office, the special Prosecutor has released a report on findings of his Investigations into the issue.

Earlier, the Commission of Human Rights Administrative Justice found Mr. Adjei culpable of conflict of interest in the discharge of his duties and said he was unfit to hold any public office again for five (5) years which led to President Nana Akufo Addo dismissing Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei as the C.E.O PPA.

According to Mr. Martin Amidu in his report, as at the time the Corruption allegations against the PPA boss was reffered to him by the President, had already independently gathered intelligence on the matter of procurement malpractices by Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei, the C. E. O of the Public Procurement Authority and had also been provided with facts and materials from other sources, particularly from the Audit Service and the Registrar of Companies.
