The Gamenu Health Centre in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region is reported to be under attack as snakes and other reptiles take over the facility.

According to Seyram Glah, the Secretary to the Gamenu Health Committee, the incident has become worse after the two streetlights at the facility have become malfunction for the past one year.

Confirming the story, some of the nurses at the Health Centre added that, the Assembly Member of the Area since last year promised to assist them get the lights functioning but has since then, never revetted.

Seyram further indicated that, the facility currently lack basic needs like furniture, stationeries, tissues, liquid soaps among others.

He further added that, the nurses, who are solely ladies, fear working in the night for fear of attack due to lack of security.

Seyram Glah is therefore appealing to the general public, individuals and philanthropist to come to the aid of the Gamenu Health Centre since the incident is gradually affecting health delivery in the community.
