Gender Breakdown of MMDCE nominees [List and statistics]

1. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has made his final nomination of MMDCEs and forwarded the list to the Ministry for Local Government and Rural Development.

2. On Sunday, 19th September, 2021, the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Dan Kwaku Botwe has released full list of MMDCE nominees.

3. A total of two hundred and sixty (260) MMDCE nominees were announced by Dan Kwaku Botwe at a press conference.

4. A total of one hundred and twenty-eight (128) MMDCEs were retained by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

5. Out of the 260 MMDCE nominees, a total of thirty-eight (38) are females representing 14.62%.

6. The remaining two hundred and twenty-two (222) are males representing 85.38%.

7. Greater Accra Region has the highest number of female MMDCE nominees of eight (8).

8. Ahafo and Western North have no female MMDCE nominee.

9. The final list of MMDCE nominees have been forwarded to the Electoral Commission of Ghana to start processes of Assembly Members elections at each MMDAs.
